Market Discovery Tour: 4th of July Prep

carrie

Mulberries from Moon Shadows Farm at Easton Farmers' Market.

Ladies and gentlemen of the greater Lehigh Valley. I've been asked by the lovely people at the Easton Farmers Market to lead their very first Market Discovery Tour on July 2, at 6:30 p.m. during the Wednesday market. The idea is to get people more familiar with what the vendors are offering--beyond the abundance of ready-to-eat meals for which the Wednesday market is getting a reputation (Sumac's chicken wraps and Switchback's pizza come to mind immediately.) That's just in time for the 4th of July. I will be leading people around the market to different vendors, highlighting all kinds of products they offer, hoping to inspire your 4th of July grilling needs and party going. We have more than 20 vendors and plenty of options—everything from condiments and sides to the main dishes and desserts. I hear there will be patriotic-themed fudge from Freckle Face Fudge. I think we may even have hamburger rolls covered, too. Can you believe it? We haven't forgotten about beverages either, so we'll be working with Tolino Vineyards and the Colony Meadery to suggest some fine wines and meads to kick back with during your long holiday weekend.

Oh, and before I forget, there was a little bit of an explosion of Carrie-related stories in the past four days. I've got a piece on Jason Hook from H2O Kitchen in the July issue of Lehigh Valley Style. There's a more personal piece on Jessica Brown, intuitive guide and healer, in the summer issue of the Easton Elucidator, which isn't online (sorry! wish I were!). And the summer issue of Edible Philly just hit the stands, too, and I've got a piece on the Easton Farmers' Market and a road trip piece to Ottsville and Upper Bucks County, with pit stops at Owowcow, the Ottsville Farmers Market (also home to Linden Hill Gardens and Kitchen Potager), Brig O'Doon and more.

Anyway, spread the word! Who's coming? We'd love to see you!
